PPOC turns 40

PPOC is celebrating their 40th anniversary today and they are looking for new members. Perhaps you may want to check them out. I'm going to celebrate with them and check out what's new. I was a member for a year about 10 years ago. This was a time long before photojournalism was the rage, and the Board still embraced the traditional portraits in high esteem. I didn't fit in there very well at that time. In fact, as a direct result of our experience there, Becker and I started our own networking group. Interestingly, our commitment to open sharing with like-minded photographers has shaped many of the studios in the OC and touched others worldwide. It seems absolutely crazy to me as I look back. I just did what I loved to do, and I shared the little I knew with those who wanted to learn. How fun is that. (I take fun with me where ever I go:) So today, I plan to take fun to a picnic and meet some new people and greet old friends. Many photographers in OC have shaped who I am today, and I'm grateful to them. Let's all inspire each other along the journey as we pursue our common passion.
