Test Drive D300
A couple of days ago Armando Florez (a former Nikon NPS rep who is now doing outside sales for Samy's) brought me down a D300 and a D3 to play with. I photographed a corporate event Tuesday evening at The Ritz Carlton and gave the cameras a spin. How fun it was to have full frame on the D3 and the capability to shoot at high ISO with fine grain in both models. They are both amazing cameras. I'll be posting more images over the next couple of days. These are two images of the entertainers from the D300 at 800 iso. For those of you in So. Cal. Armando can be reached at 310-856-9023 to get you hooked on the new cameras. Thankfully, Samy's is now doing Nikon's job of getting cameras in the hands of the pros. Props to Samy's and Armando!! Thank you both for your dedication and service.

Word to the wise, Samy's MAY want to deal with the pros but they sure act like amateurs. I ordered a D3 online form them last week after being told they were in stock. An hour or so after I placed my order I received a call that they will not accept purchases of a D3 with credit card. WTF! This is after I had placed my order, due to fraud reasons they will only accept wire transfers. Seems like a good excuse to avoid the credit card merchant fees to me.

Thanks for sharing your experience Alex. I'll let you know what happens for me. I was simply applauding Samy's support of outside services. Nikon had told me months ago I could test drive a D3, but they seem to be in no great hurry to get me one. Blessings. Joe

Hey guys!
I got a D3 a couple of weeks ago and shot an engagement session and a wedding with it and it's an awesome tool.
I specially like the iso performance and the new auto-focus system... it took no time to get used to it being a D2X user. Can't wait to shoot another wedding this next weekend with it.
Cheers!
