“We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls.” - Mother Teresa
It was inevitable that my body would say "no more" after the fast pace I'd been keeping up for the past few weeks. In a way, being sick is a blessing. It has reminded me how much I value my health. It has reminded me how much I take breathing for granted. My breathing has been so shallow for these past few days. I look forward to breathing deep again. It has also been a time to connect more deeply with God. When I am sick, I am in need. When I am in need, I call out to God in a different way than when I am filled with Health.
A friend told me this morning that I should drink beer mixed with orange juice when I feel a cold coming on. I told her that I drank plenty of both while I was in London...and I still got sick. Anyway, I prefer Vodka with my orange juice.
May your Sunday be filled with rest and the fluids of your choice.
