I've started pulling images for an album of engagement sessions. These are two images I shot a few years ago. I've never done an engagement "sample album" in all my years of shooting them. I have an incredible array of images that are not the traditional "looking at the camera" shots. Photography is fun! Don't you agree?

Two weeks ago (already) I photographed an awesome couple with their fabulously huge Great Danes. I was stoked because I had a Great Dane when I was a kid and it was cool to be around these big dogs again. California is so full of little dogs... It is also my very favorite time of year, Autumn. The leaves changing color were a beautiful bonus. Enjoy!
Last weekend, I had the great pleasure of photographing this beautiful couple at The Mission in San Juan.
As I've said before, I really enjoy alternatives to the beach. Jennifer and Justin had fun with me, and I had fun shooting them. Enjoy.

Wow, the past 48 hours have been full of fun! Thursday morning I flew out to 107 degree weather in Vegas to photograph Sara and Deepak. The photo session went awesome and I had a blast getting to know them. I had a late dinner with Deepak's family and then went out to a new club with my long time friend Paul until the wee hours. Friday morning I got up early and had breakfast with my Aunt Normie and Uncle George who were visiting Vegas from Texas. I flew home, got a short nap, and then took Mikayla to Gwen Stefani! My awesome friend Kelly Meyer hooked me up with the tickets and the show was fabulous. Now it's 2 am (again so soon) and I'm posting some of my favorite images of this beautiful couple. I'm going to bed now... Enjoy!

Wednesday evening I had the pleasure of hanging out with Amita and Harshith after we shot engagement images in Laguna Beach. I had a great time getting to know them better before they're Big Day. I highly recommend shooting engagement sessions with all my clients. There is value in bonding. Enjoy!

Seema and Karan made it so easy for me to get great shots. They were awesome together. We spent a few hours shooting in and around Central Park. We also shot at Grand Central Station and their rooftop for the images at dusk. (Thanks for showing me such a fun time in NYC). Enjoy!

Last Saturday I was in San Francisco to photograph engagement images of Kelley and Aaron. The couple will be married in OC this summer, but they live in SF and really wanted to shoot where it was meaningful for them. The weather was, well, overcast and rainy. But, I pride myself on being able to shoot in any weather. (As you know, we only have one season in OC). "Blessed are the flexible", my Father told me when it rained on my wedding day. Enjoy!

All right, all right, all right... I was in my zone tonight! It feels really good to be charged with creative energy!
What a day, I was in LA this morning finding great new suedes for my albums covers and I was in San Diego tonight (Balboa Park) shooting engagement images. Rock on! I'm pretty happy with the results. Priscilla recommended that we shoot there. It was a good suggestion:)
It was exactly one year ago tonight that Josh proposed. They figured that out at dinner this evening when our waiter asked the date. (Thanks for dinner too!!) You guys are awesome.
Everyone else...enjoy the images and pursue your passion! It's late. I'm going to bed.

Danielle and Jerod and their children spent some time with me in Laguna Beach to shoot family portraits and engagement images. It is awesome to live so close to so many great beaches to shoot. Danielle hung in there on a clear and cold day at the beach a few weeks ago. The wind was really blowing too. It's not easy being a model, but the images are always worth the discomfort. Enjoy!

I photographed Georgina & Garvin close to my studio in San Juan Capistrano. Georgina had a second dress for her wedding and chose to wear it for their engagement session. It's fun to shoot bridal images before the wedding. Enjoy.

Andrea and Benn were so cute together. They had a great time with each other as I was shooting them. One of the critical elements of a successful portrait session, is that the clients be relaxed and comfortable with their photographer. It's easy for me to be excited and affirming while I'm shooting. As a result, the clients can enjoy the session, and the results show in their expressions. Enjoy!

Last week I shot engagement photos in my "hood". My studio is less than two miles from an incredibly gorgeous Mission in the historic city of San Juan Capistrano. The Mission grounds provided a varied array of backdrops to photograph my clients. It is also, another great alternative to the beach. Enjoy!

Last week I photographed Jill and Ryan around downtown San Juan Capistrano for their engagement session. There's so many cool places to do images in my "hood". Once again, no beach photos. I'm on a roll. Enjoy!

I photographed this engagement session on Wednesday afternoon in Orange County. It was raining just 2 hours before the shoot and my clients were wondering if we should reschedule. I decided that we should move forward, and unless it was pouring rain, we'd be able to do some super cool images with the plane and the convertible. I like extreme weather for shoots. It makes the challenge all the more interesting. I think the cloud conditions made the images all the better. Enjoy!

I have a simple rule with engagement sessions, have fun! If I'm having fun then the clients will have a great time and that shows in the photos. Enjoy!

I really enjoy doing something fun and exciting with engagement sessions. I did this one last summer when the water was warmer. Alex & Jeff live in Atlanta and we shot in Santa Monica while they were visiting Santa Barbara to prepare for their wedding. I used David Jay's showit web to show off the images. Wow, what a killer response I got. Happy clients make for great word of mouth advertising! Check out the video.

OK I thought I might take this opportunity to show an example of an engagement session that wasn't at the beach! I actually shot these last year, but it I loved this couple (and it's my blog) so now, you get to enjoy them too.
